Sparrow gained fame picketing the New Yorker for promoting “bad poetry.” They then published his many books later, including How to Survive the Coming Collapse of Civilization (And Other Helpful Hints), America: A Prophecy: The Sparrow Reader, The Princeton Diary, and Republican Like Me: A Diary of My Presidential Campaign, he is a noted essayist as well as an influential poet with followings across the globe.

Violet Snow is a longtime historian and journalist, and author of a memoir of her earlier self’s attempt to become a sadhu in India, as well as To March or to Marry, an historical novel about suffrage and the women’s club movement.

Together, the couple are entertaining and provocative readers of their own material, examples of the Hudson Valley’s recent resurgence as a  center of new creativity and ageless compassion.
